Project Manager, IRS Office of Safeguards
Sammi Shultz serves as the project manager, IRS Office of Safeguards, working in partnership with the Safeguards’ Director. IRS’ Office of Safeguards ensures that federal tax information provided to more than 300 local, state and federal agencies is appropriately protected.
As the project manager, Sammi has responsibility for policy development and technical guidance, including revisions to and interpretation of Publication 1075; legislative implementation; computer security contract management; budget management and oversight; and incident management for all agency data breaches.
Sammi has worked at the IRS for 22 years, the last four years in her current position.
Sammi holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Wyoming.
